The Institute of Natural Hazards Engineering is a unit of the University Research Center of the Ionian University, with the mission of creating new knowledge through the promotion of science, research and innovation, but also through the development of infrastructures for the systematic monitoring of critical parameters and magnitudes of Natural Hazards and of the respective disasters.
Through its action, the Institute aspires to be a scientific advisor to the Region of the Ionian Islands, the local OTAs and also at the National level, collaborating with the corresponding existing State and Academic-Scientific structures, in matters of Civil Protection in the entire relevant range of sectors: Prevention, Management, Mitigation, Restoration.
